PART TIME GREEN - 9 deadly letters "Fragrance"
9 deadly letters "Fragrance"
Industry is not required to disclose ingredients of fragrances and perfumes on their labels

Are you aware that most of the shampoos and personal care products used today have cancer causing agents?

Many scientists are now becoming concerned that long-term low-level exposure to chemicals may be just as dangerous as short-term high-dose exposures. Clinical observations by medical doctors have shown that exposure to fragrances can affect the central nervous system, causing depression, hyperactivity, irritability, inability to cope, and other behavioral changes. Fragrance is a common skin irritant.

Most perfumes that are made today are having about 500 to 600 chemical substance in it. These include chemicals such as ethylene glycol monophenyl ether, propanoic acid; methyl anthranilate, isosafrole, cinnamnaldehyde, dimethyl succinate, ethylene glycol diacetate, succinic acid, aniline-D5, T-Butyl alcohol, benzyl chloride, formic acid, methyl formate and many more are used in perfumery. Some chemicals are fixatives, some are solvents and some are for giving synthetic fragrance to the perfume.

The toxic chemicals that are found in perfumes for making different fragrances include ethanol, acetone, camphor, toluene, benzaldehyde, formaldehyde, benzyl alcohol, limonene, benzyl acetate, linalool, musk amberette, g-terpinene, musk xylene, beta-phenethyl, musk keytone and methylene chloride.

What to do?

Read the label. If the manufacturer does not disclose what the "Fragrance" is.  Look for alternatives that use Essential oils of aromatic plants and pure extracts of flowers.

In the future, I shall endeavour to not use products who have not disclosed what the fragrance is. Merci
