PART TIME GREEN - The All-Purpose Cleaning Solution!
The All-Purpose Cleaning Solution!
Homemade Vinegar and Lemon Cleaner

1 part Vinegar + 1 part water + a Hint of Lemon =  Healthy Clean Home!

Vinegar naturally cleans like an all-purpose cleaner. Mix a solution of 1 part water to 1 part vinegar and a little lemon juice in a clean spray bottle and you have a solution that will clean most areas of your home. Vinegar is a great natural cleaning product as well as a disinfectant and deodorizer. It is safe to use on most surfaces and has the added bonus of being incredibly cheap.

A couple of things to note: Improperly diluted vinegar is acidic and can eat away at tile grout. Never use vinegar on marble surfaces. If you follow the proportions listed above, you won't damage your surfaces. And don't worry about your home smelling like vinegar. The smell disappears when it dries, and all that remains is a clean surface with the delicate scent of lemon.

Vinegar mixed with water is also good to neutralize dog urine. Let it dry and then sprinkle with baking soda. leave overnight, vacuum. Sometimes you have to repeat.

I figure that vinegar is a whole hell of a lot better for the environment and my family. I have 3 tiny children and I have replaced almost every single commercial cleaner that I had.
