In the past if you wanted to switch those E17 lights to
energy saving compact fluorescents you were out of luck. CFL manufacturers do not make
intermediate base CFLs
Well we tracked down an alternative. Please see links and information below.
Light Socket Adapters
You can also use a mini-base (E12)
compact fluorescents light with your Intermediate Base sockets (E17).
Simply screw on to the bottom of your mini-base
bulb and your in ready to go.
Intermediate (E17) Base to Candelabra (E12) Base Reducer.

IKEA sells an E17 CFL floodlight. Check under the product SPARSAM.
